Hi guys,

Anyone know where i can get a set of TOYO 285/35 22 at all?

I have had a quote of £180 per tyre thats with fitting and balance. Would be grateful if anyone could advise if this was a good price or not as i've already got one 'A' hole and i don't need another ripped!

Yip, the place I use is £182.60 fully fitted.
Noticed they are rated E E 72... Not brilliant.
Edit... They are rated 106 for load... I am sure FFRR's should be 111... You should check that. Previously..

Can't really recommend anything, but 106 load index is for up to 950kg, my standard fit tyres were rated 111 which were for up to 1090kg... 'tis a heavy old beast is the FFRR, I would check that 106 is insurance friendly.... And safe.
Ps.. I am quite happy to be shot down if I am completely wrong here, my point was please check before you buy.  Previously..

already looked into this as was looking at buying new tyres for my 22s. 106 rated tyres are fine unless towing then would need 109 or higher to keep the insurance companies happy at least. this is going by the maximum axle weights in the owners handbook. max front axle load is 1530kg, max rear is 1850kg which can increase to a max of 2050kg when towing.

just found this info of Topix in owners handbook

I am no expert on this.. But when you are cornering, there must be a significant percentage of the axle weight transferred to the outside wheel. All the calculations are based on static weights. Also, if you hit a bump, the loading on the tyre will shoot up as well. I would say, best not to guess and calculate, go with the owners handbook or a tyre manufacturers guide. Previously..

I agree with contraband but the manufacturers handbook doesnt list tyres for a 22" rim. i think most 285 35 22 tyres are 106 load rated tops with only one that i know of being a 112 and thats an 'achilles' or something. i would imagine the tyre manufacturers would have a large safety margin built into their tyres anyway so i wouldnt worry bout running a 106 rated tyre, after all it is load rated to take the weight of the ff so should still be legal????? i hope so 'cause mine are 106's

Hi guys,

Just took delivery of three tyres that I won on eBay,

Toyos 285 35 22, been looking fo a month, stan was right with that price,

Looked everywhere and ended up being very lucky I needed 2 and got 3 for

£260 delivered with 6-7 mm on them, but patience was the key, I was using a portable tyre

Compressor for 6 weeks using it every 2 days, you do get them on eBay some better than others,

And it cost me £15 a corner to put them on.
