It's my wife's works xmas night out tonight, she works in a local primary school. Its unreal to think someone could just walk into a school and do that. The poor families will never get over that.

If the Americans want guns, they should be limited to owning a low powered handgun. Why anyone needs an assault rifle is beyond me.

I wouldnt trust most Americans with a BB gun let alone a true firearm .... Not an attack on Americans tho, I feel the same about most British people too .... Difference is tho over here you have to prove your suitability to the police before your let loose with one.

You only have to browse youtube to see how little respect for safety they have, watched a vid the other day of a kid, about 11 years old who was perched ontop of his parents roof with an air rifle, he called his best mate and told him to come over then proceeded to shoot him as he crossed the road.

When I was a kid I was taught never point a gun at anyone even if it is a toy.

My suggestion regarding the USA guns issue is copy our system - you want a gun you have to prove your not a nutter first that way their 'second ammendment rights' are not harmed, just restricted to people who are mentally stable.

Then just implement mandatory 5 year imprisonment for any illegal ownership and we are done - may need to build some more prisons tho.

Sad to say my wife's cousin is very good friends with the Hockley family, both having children of a similar age and each having had the other's to stay.

Brings it home for sure.

No excuse nor need for firearms - perhaps the NRA will come back and say that the teachers and kids should have been armed and so capable of defending themselves? Out of their "dead, cold hands..." perhaps?

After anything like this terrible crime, they ask the neighbours what the killer was like and they, without fail, say he was a lovely chap who kept himself to himself. They never ever say he was a nutter who was just waiting for a chance to kill anyone that looked at him sideways.
