I have an idea to build or buy L322 as an off roader or buy one built.

has any one got one for sale or have you any bits for sale.

or should I just get a Disco 3 instead?

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Question

There are lots out there. How severe off roading are you looking at. Question 2020 Porsche Panamera Turbo Hybrid (V FAST)

Aren't they all equipped to go off-road Wink

I know what you mean Thumbs Up

Perhaps do a search for a G4 there is usually one up for grabs somewhere (pistonheads/autotrader)

Found a Spurt: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classif...hse/738637 .

Thanks guys, I am looking to spend up to £18k for a built one, so i will keep an eye out assuming i donnt go the Disco route.

not looking for anything to compromised as I still want to be able to use it for motor way miles, Wicnch rock/sill sliders and under guards etc.

Sliders and RAI aren't available off the shelf and most places want about £1k to do it as a one off Sad

The under shields are available from Mantec as they have some left in stock when i last spoke to them but budget £600-800 for them and then a few hours faffing to fit them (Easy job tbh!)

Rock sliders could be adapted from D3/4 ones, speak to RLD on the disco forums as he may be able to do some for you but would need the car for a few days to get it right.

Winch tray on ebay if its the one i see is missing LOADS of bits so factor another £200+ for the bits to be made up to fit it properly and then at least £700 for the correct winch to fit it if you want it as LR made it for offroading (Warn XD 9000i or 9500i) though you can go the hydro route the only person i know to try this on here (speedymarktd6) ran into issues and gave up in the end.
Also fitting the winch requires the bumper to be cut which can be DIY done but maybe best to get another bumper thats sprayed up so when you come to sell on it can be swapped back? Also you'll need 2 PDC sensors for it as well unless you re-use yours(wouldn't reccomend it though as they can get damaged offroading or under water..)

Also you'll want a set of rims and tyres for offroad duty and one for on road. There are compromises and these are noted in the disco forums but in my mind you are better with a road set and an offroad set as one set can have marks and chunks and scrapes on them and the other can be nice and perfect with much better road biased tyres on Smile (i run wrangler HP and Pirelli scorps on my road set).

I do a small amount of off roading with mine and it copes very well but is quite heavy so cna sink quickly and makes the brakes and engine work a bit harder

If you want something easy to modify get an old disco 3, pref with EAS and in S trim(less to go wrong) and save some cash for when the engine goes pop as well(cant be rebuilt so recon units only from LR Sad )

there is loads im likely forgetting but anything you want to know just ask as we a re all friendly and some of us do use them for offroading Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

TBH it depends how crazy you want to go on the mods.

If you can find a cheap TD6 early vogue then maybe get it, get the gearbox and its ECU sorted(£2k) and spend another £2-3k) on upgrades you will have a very capable Offroader that will be a lot more comfier than a Disco and also spend less time in a workshop i would bet as well.. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

FFRR is a good choice, why shouldnt you have a bit of luxury while stuck in a scottish bog. Personally i think they look brill when geared up with off road goodies but i am a bit biased Mr. Green
