Playing music in the car plus films

Ive got a 2003 HSE with SATNAV screen plus the 6 disk cd changer in the glove box (that is broken - always says no disks) and i have a parrot CK3100 installed already for bluetooth phone calls etc. Also have the 10 disk dvd changer in the boot.

Firstly..... Im looking at the best way to play my music in the car. Ive got a Samsung Galaxy S3 Android phone with my music on which has a 3,5mm jack and a micro usb slot. Didnt really fancy buying a Apple ipod or iphone just to link to a intravee system plus im not a big fan of apple. I would also consider a music setup where it runs off a memory card etc?

I have been looking online at the Parrot MKi900 which looks like it would replace my current parrot but sync and play music?

Would be good to have stearing wheel and satnav / front tv screen linked to show music tracks etc

Secondly....Im looking at swapping the DVD changer in the boot for something that has a memory card system as we have plenty of films on file rather than disk.

Any ideas much appreiciated. Thanks in advance. 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6

That looks good, though I'm not into playing stuff in the car from my phone etc, so I'm not an expert.

Baris on here has a few things for sale, and has a unit with USB feature if its any use ?

He also does a bluetooth thing to play music from your phone. Perhaps worth a pm to see if he has any ideas ? He knows the electronics very well. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Hi,

I've got the Parrot MK9200 in mine. Worked great playing music from my iPhone, and still works great playing music from my Samsung S3 - but only by Bluetooth.

The other option with it (the Parrot) is you can bung in an SD card (upto 64 gigs if it's formatted at FAT32) with all your music on and just use the phone side of the Parrot for calls and charging. The Parrot is worht it's weight in gold - just always works and the sound side is great.

Thanks for the replies, i haven't had time to get back online to reply until now.

I am keen to have my music available to play from a device such as either my phone or a usb memory sick and the grom device does seem pretty good. I rang them up yesterday and the guy said if i email him a picture of the cd changer lead end that goes into the back of the cd changer as it is possible that the grom device will plug into this rather than taking the dash out and plug in the lead into the back of the sat nav radio and running it down to the glove box (a job i am not entirely confident in doing).

@ simes - thanks for advice, i am thinking with what your saying about the parrot MK900 that this does virtually what im after (putting music on a memory device) but is the quality just like playing a cd with it going through Bluetooth? Do you operate changing tracks or music folders through the parrot and is it easy and safe whilst driving to select preferred songs etc?

@ mjdronfield - thanks for the advice, i will pm Baris when i get a min.

Thanks for all advice so far 2003 Range Rover HSE 3.0 TD6

The parrot has its own controller that is wireless that you can mount wherever you like. So selecting tracks/playlists is easy enough.

Blue tooth sound quality is fine - the limiting factor is the bit rate of your music.
