HDC INACTIV, Very strange

Hi,

So I'm getting the HDC INACTIV every morning, even after I changed the battery 1 month ago.
The message popup's since I have the car (TD6), and I now think it's part of it, since it has a soul.

But since t° here are bellow 2°C I'm not getting the message anymore.

This is independant of preheating.

Any thoughts?

I had this problem for a while. Even changed a couple of ABS sensors to no avail.

Eventually turned out to be a loose connection at one of the sensors. Maybe the cold has forzen things together again? African Bush Junkie ... in London!

I too have the same problem, normally the HDC inactive welcomes me each morning with a bong. Yet since its dropped cold and im welcomed with the outside temp warning, the HDC inactive has gone.

Ive also found if i wait for the glow plug sign to go out, i dont get the HDC warning either.

Also i only get the warning first thing, nothing again every time i start the car, even when its been parked up at work for 10hrs Three things in a blokes life his dog,his car and a Cornish pasty, nothing else matters.

Hi from Dusseldorf.

The problem is that I don't get "HDC INACTIV" anymore when the ext. t° is bellow 4° to 2°.

Battery is new and full of power. I think there is something in the startup process that changes when temperatures are cold, could be the root of the problem?

I used to get this all the time - even with a new battery, until I installed a second battery in the back. This runs through an isolator that only cuts the main battery once the volts drop down a fair bit, so day to day, when I'm not camping and running a fridge off the system, the whole show stays at a slightly higher level of charge now than it did before, and after a few days of running this system, this fault has not been seen since. My guess was that it was VERY voltage sensitive, but with you guys saying it's sorted now it is colder, sort of seems to counter this, as the battery would be under a lot more stress at this time of year for you guys, so now I'm not so sure, but mine is fixed, and a few of you along with it, so all good I suppose... Thumbs Up
