Easiest way to test is to drive the car a little and have a bottle of water with you. When the shudders happen pull over when you can and pour some water onto each of the rear discs. The one that steams is the burgerd one Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Mine is going into the stealers for the same problem, seems to be an NSR sticking caliper. the mot pulled up a single worn pad on that side, weird, after a run that side squeaks and is hot as Censored .

Maybe get a free caliper from the warranty, we shall see..... Gotta love those warranties. £3300 this year and counting. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Will give it a try, might just be the discs, they look pretty awful.

Quite often the calipers only stick when the pads are worn down and the piston comes a long way out, my fronts have done this twice and I must get round to changing the calipers (£43 from ECP) One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Thats what I was quoted but i do have an account, I just paid £90 for a bosch S5 battery that someone paid £98 for with a 25% discount code, so I reckon I must get 30% discount, maybe they havce gone up a bit or they are using diff make calipers. my quote was a while ago. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Calipers for my 2008my are 72.18 less discount codes, so about £50 but you have to pay a £24 deposit and bring in ypur old ones to get that price.

The 30% brake discount they have on at the mo doesn't apply to calipers. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Ok, took a bottle of water with me and after 20 miles or so on country roads gave them a squirt. Passenger side hot, some steam but probably par for the course. Drivers side...like dipping a red hot horse shoe in a bucket of water, so seems like that is the answer.

I will order some new callipers for the rear. I have the RAC here currently changing a wheel...another TPMS valve blown itself over the forecourt...fortunately I had ordered a couple of spares, pain in the arse though! Will order some for the fronts too as its probably just a matter of time. Have two new rear tyres to fit also.

Anyone used Brake Engineering for callipers?

Have a great Xmas and New Year!!

There are some cheap ones on ebay for about £50 IIRC.

Also my rears didn't give off any steam at all when tested until one started sticking Sad

The other one still didn't give off a whiff of steam as the rears dont do much braking at all, especially if done gently in a straight line Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

If your confident, and wouldn't need to disconnect the caliper from the fluid line if its the guides that are stuck..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-2002...ange+Rover|Plat_Gen%3AMK+III&hash=item35c244f19b

Or if the piston is sticking itself...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVER-REAR...ange+Rover|Plat_Gen%3AMK+III&hash=item35c1d02057

Or the whole hog and get some new pads and discs Smile

Also the slide block is a seperate item so check which part is causing the issue as if its the slide block its cheaper and the slides are also available as well Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I had a spare few minutes yesterday so whipped the wheel off and had a nose about.

The pads are worn down and just about to hit the rivets Sad The piston is pretty resilient to being pushed back, luckily its not a windy one as i HATE those ones Sad

having rebuilt many Brembo 4 pots before i have decided to get a new or reman caliper as the piston and the pot are likely too far gone for me to waste time trying to save when a new caliper is about £60 or less its better to swap.

For about £100 i can get the caliper, discs and pads from ECP but i have a friend at GSF whos moving over to pages so i think i'll hit him up for some prices on this little lot Smile

Worst part that i always hate is bleeding the brakes but i think i have a brake bleed kit somewhere.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago the best way I can describe the noise/vibration is like leaving your rear window open when driving at speed down the M/Way if that makes sense? I wasn't able to get the work done myself as this all happened on a sun and as I work away all week so my wife uses it with our wee boy anyway put it into a local garage and cost £140 which I thought was very good F**K IT you only live once

Thats it exactly.....that pressure noise/feeling when just one window is open......and mine squeaks on the 'stuck' side when reversing.

When it stops raining long enough I shall tackle mine. By the end of this I shall be quite the mechanic, new discs and pads on a 1 series, new motor in a Dyson and the RR rear brakes. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is bleeding the brakes but I have good neighbour who loves that kind of thing.

Last thing to do at the moment is the belt or belt tensioner to get rid of that irritating start up squeak but I think i'll leave that for the garage.

Gunson Eezibleed for bleeding the brakes, I'm still amazed at how simple they are to use and the results are fantastic Thumbs Up
