Anyone blanked the EGR valves on a TDV8?

Just wondering as I've been reading about the mod to the TD6 which improves mpg. Has anyone done it to a 3.6 TDV8? I presume it will run more smoothly and give better mpg, as per the TD6. What are the negatives?

The car is an 07 reg but not sure if it's Euro IV with an EGR light? 2021 3.0 P400 Vogue - coming!

I don't think it will be as simple on the TDV8 as it will throw up a EML on the dash

Euro 4 engine. Can't be done easily but no real need to either. They are much more reliable than those fitted to the TDV6.

Mines in being swapped under warranty. Seems to have gone 62,000 before replacement.

Faulty EGR valves are common on the TDV8

I wonder if you could blank them off and fit a resistor to fool the ECU

My cars symptoms where juddering upon start up almost as if the whole car shook. I've been told its like your arteries being blocked it gets trickier for it I run without some mild performance issues. Also black smoke is thrown out of it upon acceleration.
