IIRC the 'Dead Reconing' feature used electronic components such as gyroscope, accelerometer, compass etc .... to estimate its position when GPS positioning is lost. |

I did not know that. Quite a good system then, impressive. It's a pity the maps look so poor on my FFRR satnav. I will need to see if I can update the maps to a newer version. Previously..
