Tyre Pressure sensing valves.

Hi All

I have the tyre pressure sensing valves on my wheels.
My car is a 2008 vogue se.
Does this Mean that i have the system that warns me of low pressure as i can't see it in any menu.

Yep, you should have the TPMS installed. When a tyre pressure is too low, you will get a little orange symbol in the bottom left hand corner of the dash. It looks a bit like the cross section of a tyre with an arrow in it. You should see it on switching the key in the ignition to position 1 and/or 2. There is nothing in the touchscreen menu that I am aware of but maybe a previous owner had the TPMS system switched off by a dealer (some people have a lot of false alarms and have it switched off). Mine is doing well so I keep it on and one of my tyres loses pressure slowly about a week and a half before I have to pump it again (I carry a small 12V compressor in the back Smile ). MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Just to throw a spanner in the works, just because the wheels have the TPMS valves in does not mean that the car has the system installed. My car came with some Land Rover optional 20 inch wheels which had the TPMS valves in them. The original spare 19 inch wheel in the boot has a normal 'rubber' valve and the TPMS system is not in the car. I believe that this may have been an optional system for all models, but am happy to be corrected if necessary.

Mine is a 2008MY TDV8 Vogue for what it's worth....

Orange lamp on dash, left hand side of the pod.

Check wheel arches for pop rivets in the plastic liners as these hold the hall effect sensors on the inside of the arch liner.

If you have it there will come a time you wish you hadn't. If you don't, be thankful for small mercies. Laughing

Mine? Turned it off with the IID tool. Thumbs Up

By inflating the tyres to the correct pressure Smile Include the spare as the TPMS also keeps an eye on that Wink MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
