Parking sensors.....

can anyone tell me whether the parking sensors on a 57plate ffrr should stop beeping if you've put it in Park and the handbrake on? Mine seems to keep beeping which is really annoying. Every other car i've ever owned with sensors stop when you put it in park.....

Asked the $tealers about it and they said that it should do that.

Drove a 61plate 4.4tdv8 at the wkend and that didn't do it so a bit confused...... Shocked

I really don't see the sense in keeping them beeping when you've parked up, i do tend to switch it off but didn't think for a car of this price i'd have to reach over the few inches to press the button Laughing

A bit of searghing turned up the answer to my question...

To have the parking sensors active in "P" seems to me like plain stupid. I wonder what the engineer were thinking when designing it that way, probably not much at all...

In "P", the car should not move at all and therefore don't need the sensors active. If the car, for some reason, still should move (like sliding on ice), you can't do anything about it so parksensors still is not helpfull at all...

No, to have parksensors active in "P" is ONLY annoying and of no practical use at all... "Plentraktoren/Garden tractor": 2008 L322 TDV8
