Goncalo- the backlight to the LCD panels - I was told they couldn't (or the company do not advise) be changed for various reasons (something about the colours and difficulty in seeing the display in daylight?) so they are still the original bulbs and brightness . They can however change the colour to a yellow/amber colour (as seen in BMW's of the same era) if you so wished ( I decided against that as it wouldn't match the other switches/sat nav/headlight switches etc)

Unwashed thinking exactly that .. I've seen a kit on ebay for the stereo pixel repairs, so its possibly available as a kit |

I finally did my pixel repair over the Easter weekend. Now I know how many km I have on the beast.
