Clutch gone after 18 months!! 4.4. What do you think?

Hello everyone! 18 months ago, the gearbox was rebuilt by a specialist company in Kent and a new clutch fitted. Since May the gearbox has been wining at certain revs, but the gearbox specialist (and stealer) said it would not be the clutch.

But guess what?! Last week I got the dreaded "trans failsafe" and limp home mode, and the stealer is telling me the oil is cooked and there are significant bits of clutch in the oil.

So, I guess re are looking at ANOTHER rebuild, or at the very least a new clutch and oil.

What could make a clutch go bang that quick? No significant towing or offl reading etc. anyone else had anything like this?
