Picture upload

Any chance we can get a pic upload via FTP at all Martin? This would make it so much easier for some of us, especially organising and such like as i know on some other sites some users have 10's of pages of piccies and dont get the chance to organise them as they are so overbearing...

I just upload using the site, five at a time, then set into the right album as I go. Usually by numbering the image titles you can then have the correct chronological "photo-story". Planning is the key, create albums first.

It is a pain to then copy each link so you can use the images in a forum post, would be good to have a links page with thumbnails to speed that bit up. Even better to be able to upload images directly into forum posts (like most forums out there) with size restrictions (that will challenge many!)

Not sure how having ftp would improve things, might speed up uploading a bit, but you still have to name, label, file into albums, create links etc.

One can always ftp to one's own webspace and link to images from there Thumbs Up .

You can upload video clips (under 7mb) but there is no tag/bbcode behaviour for them, same with pdfs, so you have to either ignore or amend your bbcode tags when posting in a thread.

e.g. http://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10584/at.avi

but it is probably better, easier, quicker to bung it on youtube (keep it private if you like) and post the link .

A new picture uploader is on the cards as the gallery on is well past its best.

I'm afraid FTP has severe security issues so I can't offer that Sad

For video, use YouTube Thumbs Up
