New L322 Owner :)

Hi All

First post as a newbie RR owner! Having been a Land Rover fan for many, many years (Series 2A, Series 3, Defender 90 and more recently Disco 300Tdi) I took the plunge, sold my Lexus RX300, and went for a LPG converted 2004 Vogue. And am chuffed to bits with it!

Just need to sort out the in-car entertainment and phone! Previous owner left me with an old Dension Ice-Link FM (not compatible with my "old" 4th Gen Ipod Nano!) and an even older retro-fitted Nokia phone system (deigned for the Nokia 6310). So, as the wiring is already in place, I am now looking to upgrade the Dension kit and am trying to find out as much as possible about the BMW Bluetooth ULF module. Seems a lot of owners on here recommend it highly!

I was originally going down the Parrot Mki9200 route to replace the whole lot, but two installers have told me it's not an option for the 2004 RR Vogue? I've taken their word for it, but no doubt someone on here could confirm!

Looking forward to being a long-term RR owner!

Cheers

Greg

Hi Greg.

Welcome to the forum. Some invaluable information on here.

I've gone the ULF route. Much easier than you think at the start !!

Check your car is pre-wired for the phone (mine said Personal Telephone Integration on the build sheet, which a Land Rover dealer should be able to print you off from the VIN), or there is a 54 way black connector down in the depths in the left hand side of the boot. You will just need a ULF, the later the better, an antenna and a microphone.

I won't post more here as its all been covered before. You've probably seen it all already.

I got a 6th Generation ULF which had "MIT SES" on it ie "with voice" so I now have voice control as well Very Happy

I am sure you will be very happy.

I did a thread called "BMW Upgrades" where there are some details of items BMW upgraded but didn't put on our cars. can be retro-fitted. May be of use to you.

EDIT : Ironically, the original owner of my car had it for nearly 9 years, and swapped for an RX300, as it was easier for his wife to drive !!

Mark

Hi Mark

Thanks for the info. Must admit, it does all sound a little daunting, but I'll make sure I read up well on it first.

But the good news is I've just been out to check and have found the 54 pin connector attached to a wiring loom with what looks like aerial lead etc., and a label clearly saying "L322 Telefon" Very Happy

All I need to do now is find the kit to go with it! So the search begins.................!

Cheers

Greg

That's what I've got in mine - works a treat - can be paired to up to ten phones and will connect to two concurrently - handy if you have personal and work phones.

Plays the music off my iPhone and charges it - couldn't be better in my opinion.

You can pair upto 5 phones to the ULF unit, but it will only "connect" to one at a time. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

When I had my 2003 vogue I fitted a Bury CC9060 bluetooth unit to it, took a bit of effort and head scratching/wire cutting but it worked a treat - let me know if you're interested and I'll see if I can find the pictures/details 2008/58 FFRR 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

Thanks for the offer, but I have managed to source an 8th generation BMW ULF module, mike and antenna. Little job for the weekend!
