they all make great claims and some companys genuinely do improve the mpg/performance but in my experience my re-mapper did nothing to enhance my td6..

Td5 Alive (at the time) tuned my Discovery Td5 and I ran that for a further 4 years with no issues. Loved it. Made it the car it should have been. Gary, who started the business did it in the garage of his house. They are a slightly bigger business now and have rebranded to Alive Tuning to reflect they don't just do Td5's. More staff have been employed and they offer more tuning bits as well.

Another point to to be aware of is by tuning the engine for more power you will be putting extra stress and strain on the gearbox now you may or may not be aware that the td6 gearbox is borderline in a standard vehicle and is known for failure so by upping the power you are upping the risks of a potential gearbox failure just something to bear in mind in making your decision onto no6 Range Rover

That was the quandary I had......... But the common failure of the td6 box is not torque related.

I'm sure I read something about the TD6 being deliberately under-tuned to prevent the gearbox failing under warranty |
