Tempramental aux in

Hi,

I've been using the 3.5mm aux input socket on the rear of the centre console (in front of the rear seats) on my '08 Vogue in order to play MP3s on my mobile phone through the car's stereo. It's worked great since I picked up the car in May. However, in the last couple of weeks I've experienced no sound coming through the aux input on two occasions.

I've tried switching the stereo off and on again, switching the audio input source from aux to e.g. radio and back to aux again and unplugging and replugging the aux cable but none of these help.

Turning off the engine and on again did not help in either case but in both cases turning the engine on after leaving it parked with the engine off for a couple of hours sorted the problem.

Anyone experienced this issue on their L322 or know which circuits/connections to check? I hope it doesn't turn out to be one of these "you need to replace the whole stereo system" problems Rolling Eyes

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Will do. The cubby box has squashed the cable a bit where I've fed it in from the side to store the excess cable and the lid has come down on it. Worked fine all day today, though. I'll also keep an old MP3 player in the car to switch over when it happens again, just to make sure it isn't my phone acting up...

Where exactly did you apply the cleaner? In the aux socket?
