United Kingdom 2004 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Bonatti Grey
Decisions decisions.....

I've had a look at two TD6s today, one perfect body wise, fsh but a tad smokey to begin with (white smoke) and a bit of a harsh ride but it did have 20" wheels on. My major concern was the steering didn't self centre and there was some resistance turning it past about 9 and 3 o'clock. It had allegedly had some new part fitted to the steering. The heated steering wheel didn't work, the led just flashed when I tried to turn it on.

The other was advertised as a Vogue but badged as Supercharged and had supercharged door sils, grill etc. it had vogue seats and sat nav but didn't have Harmon Kardon which I thought was standard on a vogue? It had bills for about £7k including cylinder head, turbo, suspension compressor etc etc. however it also had been fully resprayed which wasn't the best of jobs. The drivers heated seat didn't work, the two LEDs came on but went off again after about 10 seconds.

Anybody have any thoughts or observations? Many thanks

My initial thought would be: keep on looking, if you have any sorts of doubts or worries go by your instinct.

On the other hand it depends on your budget and hence your expectations I suppose. Maybe these cars are good for their price? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Keep looking mate...........

The Vogue has the HK hi-fi but it won't say it on the speaker grilles.

Mine has the HK on the speaker grille's but I have seen some without. The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!
When women say fine a mans in deep doodoo as fine has so many meanings.

I should have said, my budget is £8-9k so I am firmly in the budget sector! The one without HK sounded vastly different (very little bass) to the other as well as not having the HK badging, which the other did. Both are up for as near as damn it £8.5k

My instinct is to keep looking but I wondered if I am not being realistic in my expectations?

if you have to choose, get one where its not been tarted up for sale on the cheap............. better to have a few marks and fix yourself properly, if you see what i mean.

The BM54 amp in the Vogue can be upgraded......... have a search on here. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Yeah that makes sense mate, I was put off by all the Supercharged "bling" which was stuck all over it - personally I can't see the point in pretending a diesel is anything other than a diesel but each to their own I guess.....
