Hi chaps,

with all the snow (4" dont you know) i have had the terrain response on a few times on the snowy roads.

I have seen the centre diff icon turn orange on the info screen, assuming that means it was locking itself, I also have an padlock icon over the rear diff....?

i know that an active rear diff was an option but as i seem to have a lock icon over the rear diff on the 4x4i screen, does this mean i have one? I havent seen it turn orange yet though.....

Does anyone else have this? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yes. It's a rather nice surprise, isn't it? The original invoice for my car said to was a $500 option.

I've found the rear tends to lock first, but I know I've got both.

I am sure I have read somewhere that the software on the screen always displays the lock icon over the rear diff even if the lock is not present - you see the unlocked icon, but never the locked. The only reliable way to tell if you have the lock is to get under the car and see if the electronic motor is attached to the rear diff

I had both showing locked on Sunday when towing the caravan up a long snow covered road when leaving a caravan site.

Central one came on first then the rear, the centre one went off first and the rear stayed on until we got onto a cleared road.

Even if it doesn't lock the tc system will use the brakes to sort it out well enough

I bet .0001% will ever need a locking rear diff on an l322 no offence chaps/chapess's!! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

No one needs a locking rear diff, but it does make drifting sideways at speed in a car park more fun in the snow ...

Im not thinking i would get stuck, but would just be interesting to find out if it had one.

Have had the centre diff locking on me and thats only when being silly on the drive to my house. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
