IPOD connected to aux in rear ents system?

I have just bought a TDV8 SE with the rear entertainment system. i tried plugging my ipod into the 'aux' socket, which works but the volume is very low. Is this normal/can it be adjusted? i can't see any reference in the manual. I have turned the ipod volume to max.
Any guidance much appreciated!
Thanks

That's the best it will be without the sound being amplified between the iPod and Aux in.

There is a thread somewhere that discusses it. stan will be along soon with the details. Current MY2020

Is it pluvgged into the headphone socket or the Apple connecter ?

Mine is plugged into the Apple connecter and works just fine.

I have one that looks like this -

and one of these -

Then just add this and you're charging too -

Alister

How does that work then?

You're iPod lead has male phono's and so does the 3.5mm jack

Volume is low if you use the headphone out socket (3.5mm), get a cable with the standard Apple docking connector cable and it works fine, with much increased volume:

Something like this:

Then turn up the volume and get yourself some of these: Laughing

Sorry - missed this part too -

Works well - I just stick the iPod in the ash tray and pick it up if I need to use the controls, but the volume is the same as the CD or radio

As long as you don't need to use it with the iPhone 4 or later, I'd say that's got to be the way to go - it's all done for you - good find Thumbs Up

Apple changed the charging for the iPhone 4 and all of the old cables no longer work - so the above should be fine even for the audio as long as you don't need to charge it.

Just purchased a bluetooth dongly thing which plugs into the rear aux.

Can stream music to it from iphone piece of peeS. No charging tho.

Was thinking of putting an auxsocket in the centre box near then i can put it in there and charge it with no wires showing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Does the bluetooth dongle thing stop it from tethering the phone? I can't say I've had any issues with a normal 3.5mm jack to jack cable :/

Still seems to tether the phone.

Have one of the cables as well. Neither is a perfect solution.

Maybe a case of an ipod kit from dan Cool There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
