My 2002 HSE has a touch screen multimedia system fitted, but when i try to use the sat nav or play a dvd I have a blue rectangle appear on the screen which blocks about 20% of the screen.

This sounds like an after market unit, what make/model is it, how is it connected up to the car? .

As the 2002 had no touch screen *ever* - it is aftermarket. Is it one of these?

When the system boots up there is a red & black emblem, which i don't recognise but it has two R's on it!

unless you can find a fuse for it...take out any sd cards and follow the dis-connection procedure in the wiki..not saying this will cure your problem but you have to start somewhere. ... - .- -.
