I tried Redex: you'd be surprised

I know that others on here have tried and lambasted Redex before, and some have used BG 244 (or something like that) but the only reason I bought it was that it was on offer in Tesco at £1 a bottle. You use the entire bottle for a 100 litre fill up so seemed easy enough, no need to measure it out, just glug it all in.

I am the world's most sceptical person, but, I changed nothing with my driving style, didn't re-zero the trip mpg counters and just waited. Within a tank of fuel the MPG readout went from 25.7 to 27.0mpg. No BS. Shocked

I just downloaded the Road Trip app featured on Fifth gear so I can keep a closer eye on the fuel side, just for curiosity (remember, I don't pay a penny for ANY of my fuel so by rights, shouldn't give a toss).

I put another bottle in today and will see how it goes. I don't drive like Miss Daisy and the car sits beautifully smooth at figures I should not advertise on here, so it's getting a good blast through.

What an unexpected difference it has made!

My view - You don't pay for your fuel - so your a pound worse off
Her view - but it was on offer - it was only a pound... Whistle

Even though I don't pay for the fuel I have a vested interest in the car's performance and ergo, overall health. If it was doing 20MPg I should have concerns as something is wrong etc.

Knowing its doing 27mpg makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside when I am tanking along overtaking Prius drivers Laughing Discovery 4 HSE

Lots of stuff on Redex and similar products on the D3 forum and most of it positive.

I got about 4 bottles from asda a while back and use it when I remember. I did not buy it for performance as such, but to clean my whole fuel system from tank to injectors. I just liked the idea of everything being shiny and clean and therefore possibly being more efficient. Defurring the arteries so to speak, and hopefully extend its life! Previously..
