I've ordered a black 32gb version - upgrading from an iPhone4 and compared to that it is quite an upgrade. Didn't bother with a 4S. I've tried and owned most phones and it does now come down to Android or iPhone (anyone thinking Microsoft can do a phone or that Nokia still knows phones.........)

For me the choice is clear. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

As per Adam above , i also bought two iP4S's outright for me and the wife a few month back and the iP5 does not seem to be any better than what we have , and to pay £1,058 for another two handsets is bordering on the insane….. Well to buy one for her might be … Laughing Laughing

As per Joe90 the oldest daughter has the S3 and swears by it , Son has the HTC one X and is not impressed with it Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Have to be honest and also admit the new 5 doesn't excite me in the way the 4 and 4S have. In other words, I'm not convinced that upgrading is worth it other than to replace an older iPhone.

I'll wait until it hits the market and gets a few reviews and then decide. The 4S's camera, improved resolution and speed are significant improvements over the 4. I can't yet see the 5 doing the same over the 4S until 4G becomes more widely available. Si. <This is my name.

You realise if you buy a 5 at present it can only be used on 4G on Tmobile/Orange but when new networks introduce 4G the next year, the previously purchased 5's will not operate on the new 4G services.
Wrong frequencies.
New phone required then required. Big Cry

As I understand it the present 5's operate on 1800MHz on 4G.
It just so happens the TMobile/ Orange are able to use this band at present.
02 and Vodafone will be bidding to use 1600MHz and 2600MHz next year for their 4G services.
As will any other 4G service provider that choses to bid.
4G services on 3 next year will use the 1800MHz if they chose to.
Therefore the present 5's will not operate in the uk on these new bands.
Ok as long as you are going to use a 5 on TMobile/Orange or 3 in the future, no problem.
If you don't intend to use TMobile/Orange or 3 in the future you will need a different phone capable of operating on the new frequencies, be it a network specific 5 or a different manufacturer..

I think this is correct but stand to be corrected. Smile

I have a 14 year daughter who is not so happy as due to O2's incompetence she will not be receiving my iPhone 4 on Friday Evil or Very Mad Yes good old O2.....the only network/phone provider to completely screw up the iPhone 5 pre-order system Big Cry

As for 4G I'm not sure what all the fuss is about Rolling Eyes As I understand it the new 4G signal will trial in a few cities next year and gradually roll out after that, so by the time its available in most areas I will have probably upgraded twice to the iPhone 7 Laughing

I also read that 4g will initially run at speeds of 22mbit/s whereas the HSDPA service (which iPhone 5 can use) will have speeds up to 42 mbit/s Shocked Shocked Shocked so where's the problem Question

Buy and iPhone, Samsung, HTC Blackberry or whatever takes your fancy in the same way as a Defender, Discovery, Sport or the proper Fullfat that's what makes us al individuals Thumbs Up
