hi all, i have just noticed that when i start my car i get 3 pips, it sounds like it comes from the rear. i take it this is a warning but nothing comes up in the message disply on the clocks
any one knows what this is of have any info on these pips

hi thanks, i was digging around the cables putting back my dvd player,may be i dislodged some thing...what about 5 pips...where do you find out what theses pips mean

mine has done that since i bought my FFRR (6 months now) i thought it was a just confirmation check i have had no problems other than the EAS and the pips still go on i just put it down to a normal function

Well it is on mine

Even if you dont pay a subscribtion the tracker unit will still fire into life when you start the car.

I doubt LR diagnostics will be able to help. As far as I am aware this is an aftermarket device fitted by an independant.

They just tap into the wiring loom for power etc. and hide the device somewhere in the car. I have had my 2003 for 4 years now and never "coughed" for the subscription. I do have two credit card size fobs that if the system were active the car wouldn't start unless the fob was in range.

I will dig out what info I can and post an update.

I'm not convinced that any tracker will beep - the devices need to be hidden in order to be effective !

I guess that if you talked to www.tracker.co.uk, they could ask one of their mobile engineers to check if one is fitted (although there may be a charge for that).

at last some one with the same as mine (5 beeps thing) i also have tracker fitted and the gredit card size thingies. it cannot be a coinicidence it must be the tracker.

i am aware that the tracker is fitted somewhere within the car, however no hint of it outwardly anywhere including no stickers etc.

if you think about it why not have confirmation pips for the owner, and if the cars is nicked the beeps sound just like a confirmation, that could be any of the systems etc (inclusive of the tracker)

so after all that i would go with the verdict from Ajay, my car came with all the gumph and info about the tracker so i dont know if you could get any info from tracker companies unless you can prove that the car was yours. i got a quote for mine and all things concidered it was expensive add on in light of the age of my car 02 Range Rover HSE Zambezie silver 4.4

hi, i have called tracker, they say its not one of theres as they make no noise at all, so what company is yours from,and i will give them a call..
i dont have any paper work to say i have one fitted, so i am left with the option to call the tracking companys to see if my car is registered with them.. or talk with tech to see if they know what the 5 pips are..

hi, cracked it it is a tracker ..by cobra nav tec. i had a small black credit card size tab, i thought it was for a electric gate, called the number and bingo, they have my car on record and have told me how to use it.

The 5 pips is the unit looking for the tab, the 3 pips as you drive of tell you its found the tab and all is ok.

daveo - Am I right in assuming yours is not a subscription service and all you had to do was change the registration details? Like you I have two black credit card size "tabs" as you call them

Please tell me its not that simple I have only had my car 4 years and if so I probably could have taken advantage of cheaper insurance

sorry ajay, it was simple.. but i would have never known with out the help from every one on this forum..
