After trawling the internet for the past 2 months 24/7 I`ve found myself a very tidy vogue se!!

Can`t wait to collect it on Wednesday from the garage.

Just a couple of questions regarding the extras offered from the stealer.

Is it worth paying £400 to get it Superguarded or can it be bought cheaper elsewhere?

They`ve offered me a lifetime warranty for £995 from "Motorcare" which gives you upto a £1000 per claim. Has anyone got/used this warranty and is it worth it? ( I`ve a mechanical breakdown warranty with the AA for my Cerbera which gives you upto £500 per claim and it only costs £65 per year).

Any everyday tips or advice you can give a very happy new owner?

Where abouts in the NW are you? As I know someone that will do it for 1/2 that, if you want it, but most detailers will tell you it's a load of

I live at the top end of Southport. Just found the Superguard kit for £9.99 on Ebay so the stealer can shove it on that one.

Nothing, as long as it`s on the outside.

They all charge £400ish for supaguard but the kit actually costs them in the region of £20-30 but takes a while to apply..but certainly not £400 worth of time! I had it on my old M3 and the paint protection was, in my view worthless, but the 'scotchguarding' of the interior is worth having.
Plenty of other, cheaper ways to achieve that and £400 buys a lot of top quality polish/wax stuff. Save your money, is my advice.

I was quoted £635 for a year on a 4.4 slighty less on the TD6.

I would do some research on the warranty and look at reviews. Some of these companies do have a reputation for not paying out by exercising one clause or another.

Personally I don't believe that extended used car warranties are not worth the paper they are written on.

I agree.

However the AA warranty I use, I`ve claimed approx 5 times in the past 3yrs and there`s never been a problem.

I may stick with the devil I know.

i have an after market warrenty that came with the car however very reluctant to pay dealer prices and when i claimed i had to pay part of the repair cost also had to pay up front and claim back but it was better than all

and youll probably find that they will only cover certain parts depending on level of cover

life time warranty,that's bull, wear and tear is the main thing they will get out of paying every time....they had me over on my torque converter, its a sealed unit that has no maintenance in a sealed gearbox that requires no maintenance on a 40,000 mile car but because it show signs of wear NOT COVERED...and then they give you the story, well the oil pump was at fault so we will replace that but your engine has cooked it self but we only cover the faulty part not what happens after....i have been there,read the book as soon as you buy a car and drive it off the forecourt its wearing,any thing that moves will wear. put the money in the bank for when your car needs it.
