Bodywork Protection

Has anyone tried any bodywork protection on any vehicle at all not just FF's?

Im interested in the stuff thats like a clear wrap so that basically as it gets scratched it doesnt take the body work with it if its light. Then come time to sell you just peel it all off and the bodywork is left pristine underneath??

Im thinking this may be a way to use the FF off road a bit more and not worry about bush's and such over the bodywork as long as i dont slide on any rocks.... FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

You'd need to wrap your entire FF to protect it from bush damage and, in truth, it won't hold up to determined use.

The best offroad protection I have for my FF is to use my 110 instead. Laughing

Or just do gentle stuff. No less enjoyable (more so, in my opinion) and can be just as challenging rather than going down some lane with a bush screaming down your paintwork (been there - hated it). Si. <This is my name.

I've seen Clingfilm used succesfully on the sides and front of vehicles.
Just peel it off after you've finished for the day. Very Happy

That's the thing bellini, i cant imagine doing it anything else thinking about it other than something really cheap and there just aren't any decent cheapies about Sad

My options either brute the TD6 up some and fit the winch and some MT's to it.
Sell it and get an older one cheap as chips from an auction for under £5k sticking £3k to the side knowing about the box and other issues.
Get something for £3-4k that is suitably modified and a normal road hack.

TBH i want to use my TD6( or save up some more and get a TDV8) as i loved the comfort and ability it had when anything and everything was thrown at it..

Getting the front overhang chopped down or a solid one made up would be nice though for the big steps Smile

Would rock sliders possibly help at all by keep the sides away from things that damage and also working as steps?? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I've heard mixed reports and personally don't see the point unless your paintwork is mint and without swirls?

Eventually it will either be like new or better or battered still... And by battered I mean battered on the drivers side Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
