Poor poor service.

As I type, I am sitting in Arnold Clarks in Dundee. They have had my company car for THREE weeks. The clutch went bang, aircon had packed in and the hand brake was not working correctly. It has been one delay after another. They even snapped a bolt on the aircon compressor mounting and could not get it out so had to order up a new assembly.
I eventually got the phone call on Saturday saying to come and pick it up now. I said not enough notice, I'll be in on Monday morning. I get a phone call on Monday morning saying they had to put rear pads in so collect on Tuesday. Ok I said.
I arrive at 9 am today and the car looks lovely and clean.
As I drive out of the car park I press the brakes and the car locks up on one side and pulls over.
I go back in, very calmly and say there is a problem.
Cheeky Censored tells me I have to book it in for another day as they are too busy to look at it !!
I look at him and calmly say " are you Censored joking"
He goes red and says ok we will do it now.
An hour or so later all is well.
I drive out of the car park and notice the steering wheel is now at the 10 past 8 position when I drive straight ahead.
Back in again.
They check and say they tracking etc has not been done when they put the subframe assy back up.
They will do it straight away... After lunch !
So it's now 13:21 and I have been told car will be ready by 14:00.....
Fingers crossed.
The Censored have cost me a day so far. Sad Previously..

Terrible!

What car is this? Reminds me a little of my old Alfa 156 company car. Si. <This is my name.

I feel for you - It is a shame that these sort of dealers are allowed to represent JLR at all Evil or Very Mad

I have been through this with my dealer - simple service resulted in 2 months of hell after they dropped mine off a ramp, bodged the repair and now another month waiting for a warranty I was promised when I accepted it back - dont get me started Banging Head

JLR should strip dealers of the franchise that don't meet the mark - what is the point of building fantastic vehicles if cowboys sell and fix them Thud Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Sorry, should have said, my company car is a KIA. I did post this in other cars. I am a victim of cutbacks! The free road tax and 7 year warranty swung the accountants and fleet dept towards the Cee'd. It's actually not a bad car, it handles really well and will sit at 70 all day long. It has been in a few times and the warranty has not covered anything yet!
It makes me appreciate my FFRR even more! Previously..

7 warranty that covers nothing then lol!!

I got laughed at the other night when I said if I won euro millions I'd do my own jlr dealership somewhere. It with good service or the staff are out the door. Oh and no commission for sales staff!!! FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Fortunately LR is one of the very few franchises the Arnie Clark empire doesn't have................ LR and Rolls Royce IIRC, but he'll sell you any other brand you care to name. The man himself is charming (he lives in the next village to me) but the people his company employs to sell and service cars are shysters. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

My father went into his Park Road showroom with his working clothes on in the late 50s to buy a car and was met by rather snooty salesman who asked if he could help. My father said he was interested in the MG in the showroom and asked the price to which the salesman replied, "too much money for you"

The staff were ar5eholes then and are ar5eholes today, the service was terrible then and is terrible today...Nothing changes
