just had new box fitted 2 weeks ago, on drive home nice and smooth but seemed to lack a bit of power.
also got the odd power surge when putting into gear.spoke to garage and said would see if it settled
down after a couple of hundred miles.had car for 2 days then drove to southamton where it was parked up for 2 weeks while on holiday.came home yesterday and again nice and smooth, parked on drive and unloaded car had cup of tea and went back out to move car back onto road. as was parking up spoke to neighbour and was in reverse with foot on brake engine gave a bit of a surge and jumped out of gear, had to select drive to get reverse again. this happened 2 more times so parked up and rang garage got no answer bit to late as sat afternoon, will ring them in the morning to take it back.anyone have any idea what could be wrong.

Not an expert, but could be the linkage rather than the box ?

well just had a call from garage and the new gearbox is faulty.is being picked up
by gearbox supplier to sort out. at least it should be okay this time.last time had a freelander
as curtesy car, this time peugeot 205, next time pushbike.

no worrys used to drive an old ford tipper truck foot to the floor handbrake
yanked on and head for the nearest grass verge.

rr now back and running sweet,well as sweet as a td6 can.
gearbox was a dodgy connection from reverse solonoid
took specialist few days to find. engine surge was engine ecu
talking to gearbox ecu. hopefully thats it for a while.

Yours must be different to mine then. I'm well happy with how my engine runs.

Though I have come from a Td5 and done a few mods.

Hopefully your 'box issues should be resolved now.

thank's, hope thats it now.the sweet as a td6 was although i drive
trucks all day, this is my first diesel car, till it wams up its a tad noisey.
mind you even after costing that much to sort out its still the dog's nuts.
