Kumho Solus Kl21 Tyres

Hi gang

Any body tried Kumho Solus KL21?
they are sold as an all season tyre Mine was a blue one!

had 4 put on when I first got my RR, £75 a corner (fitted!!)

Seemed fine in the wet, but never tried them in snow. Wear was quite good too. I would deffo use them as a summer tyre.

Not had those but the KL71 were fantastic on the G4 D3

I have kumho venturers on mine , they are good on the road and were great in winter conditions.

Had them on mine on the rear axle. Were fine. Think the were prone to cupping though. The centre seemed to wear down quicker than the outside. V8 or else ...

That would be over inflation which causes that, not the construction of the tyre. Bear in mind that LR quoted pressures are for line fit tyres (Pirelli or Conti) and you do need to adjust for others. Always worth doing the chalk test.

Bit the bullet and went for the Kumho's as I wanted an all season tyre. There are some good and bad reports mainly good from the US for some reason although I found a video road test against similar all season Pirelli and Michelins where they seem to fair quite well against the much costlier tyres.
First impressions not noticably noisier than the worn Yoko's they replaced, ride feels firmer but I had fitter blow them up to 36/44 as I am towing next week. Will see how they are after that when I have let a bit of pressure out.
Tried them in atrocious conditions yesterday and seemed to grip ok with no drama, again compared to the worn Yoko's. Tried the avoid a bunny emergency stop ( bit like a small scale elk test) and the abs did kick in but it was very wet
The tread from new did not look very deep but is a good 10mm. Will report again after I have tried wet grass etc and most important snow because the Yoko's were scary.

They are sold as an eco tyre surpposed to save fuel and I will admit there was a small increase in MPG after the round trip to work but that might be because of Driving slower in the conditions but I was givin it a boot full when safe to test grip????
When you see four 265/50/20's piled up at the garage you realise what a lot of rubber it is.

Update
Driven for few thousand miles now with nothing negative to report so far.
They seem to grip ok in all sorts of conditions and i have just been trying them out on very very wet grass with a slope no hint of slipping. Just got to wait for some snow now! Mine was a blue one!

how does the 265/50 look in comparison to 255/55 ?
i would think about the same ?

Sorry I dont know, someone who does is bound to pop along in a min I just went like for like what was on the rims size wise Mine was a blue one!
