Argh - damn trucks

A truck clipped my mirror driving through central London. Big Cry There was plenty of room but he decided he needed to pelt down the road two feet from the foot path. Thankfully the only damage was the clip on the back of the glass meaning I will probably have to replace the glass and the the mount on the back of the glass. It could have been worse I guess.

I stupidly decided to give the sat nav the benefit of the doubt and naturally (as with all sat navs), she sent me into town. My instinct said to stick to the M25. It might be long but it would reliably get me home. After a long day, it was the last thing I needed.

Popped into Beadles this morning. Thankfully it's just the glass that needs to be replaced so it will be £66 plus 10% off if I buy it on Wednesday

Rolling with laughter I have no idea what is special about Wednesday. The guy just mentioned at the end of his sentence.

The guy used my VIN to work out the part number. An extra 80 quid for some tinting?

My LR dealer replaced a mirror glass under warranty (photochromatic one) and told me they retail at £300!

OUCH!

But... now I've had 'em, don't think I'll be able to live without 'em. FFRR TD6 06MY. Cairns Blue, Blue Hide. LR 7 Spoke 20" Wheels, S/C Grill and Vents. Privacy Glass and Side Steps

lol - the photo chromatic bit is just tinting in the glass similar to the spectacles?

Update

Car got sorted today. As the spare parts guy suggested, got 10% off for purchasing it today. Fitting it was a bit of a pain as it doesn't just snap into place. Apparently there is a tool (?) for it. Spoke to the service department and they popped on the mirror in about 3 minutes. Best of all they didn't charge me to do it. So it's a big Thumbs Up Thumbs Up for Beadles Sidcup Smile
