2003 TD6 Range Rover HSE not shifting when on low speed
Dear All, after two years of pain and ache with my 2003 3.0 TD6 BMW engine RR (european - right hand drive) I have finally located this site and I am desperate for your assisstance.
The problem begun in 2010 where while driving I started to feel some vibrations. Was going back to forward to the dealer with my concerns and they were just saying "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR...IT MUST BE YOUR TIRES" (I have 22 inch Toyos fitted).
My concern laid to a TRASMITION FAIL SAFE MODE and I was adviced to get the transmition completley reconditioned. (costed 4.5k euros).
While the recondition was done and received my car, I was going back and forth to the dealer saying that I am not happy....there was something about the smoothness in the changes and I could still feel SOME vibration.
The car kept going for several month back to the dealer and after several arguments they have reconditioned the gearbox and changed the torque converter again.
Got the car back and then while driving last summer (FYI in Cyprus temps reach 45 celcius) and while driving gues what... TRANSMITION FAIL SAFE MODE......... oookkk had to tow it this time as I couldnt engage the gear..... I guess the dealer reconditioned the gearbox again.
Got the car back...........and several months later while driving...............gues what........TRANSMITION FAIL SAFE MODE...........this time I was able to drive it back to the dealer....and the car was reconditioned again (allegedly).
After the last alleged recondition, I have experienced a new fault............basically, when cold and going in reverse and then putting the car into DRIVE......i have noticed a delay in engaging the gear.
When back to the dealer.....got in contact with the garage who was making the reconditions for the dealer and all where saying THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GEARBOX..IT IS MY IMMAGINATION.
After several visits and after insisting they have changed the VALVE BODY.
Changing the VALVE BODY resolved the matter of engaging the DRIVE after a reverse.........but.........I am experiencing a new problem.
While driving (and after a few kilometers drivinng-so I assume when warms up) I notice that when I slow down i.e to turn Or because i am approching traffic lights etc (on low speads) and I put my foot down to accellarate....NOTHING HAPPENS.
The car will not respond. I need to put my foot down ALL THE WAY for it to responce and sometimes I even have to kickdown.
While putting my foot down the REV counter will not increase until it finally picks up.
When back and fourth to the dealer checking sensonrs and fuel pumbs and even installed a new VALVE BODY and NOTHING.
PLEASE HEEEELP as this is driving me crazy.
ANY IDEAS ???
