Door Card

I've read just about every thread on door locks not working. My passenger door will not unlock with either the key or the internal button so I thought I'd have a go at lubricating it myself.
On about the 100th time of trying the door unlocked so I took advantage of this opportunity.
Watched the Video on MeTube on how to remove the door card (Very usefull) but when I tried to remove the wiring everything came off easy enough except the large plug that connects the electric window button to the door. The two small ones have those slide clips but for the life of me I can't work out how to remove the middle one.
Any ideas? or is it designed not to be removed??

(had someone hold the card while I sprayed everything and it made no difference by the way but have decided to have another go before I bite the bullet and send it in to be repaired.

Next trick I read somewhere is to push down on the button before trying to unlock... Regards

Well, not a great lot of use to you, but I replaced the speaker on a mates 4.4 petrol, and he really struggled to get that connector off. Very tight.

RAVE isn't much help, as it says "disconnect 6 multiplugs"..........

Other than fully understanding what you need to do to get the plug off, which I'm sure you've done, I can't think of much.

Is there a connection further down where you can disconnect there instead ? Long shot - can't remember.

Unless someones stuck it on previously......... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Do you mean the black square shaped plug in the middle? If so, slide a flat screwdriver in the gap in the end and gently lever it out (works on a similar principle as the two other turn clips in the window panel) but slides out releasing the plug rather than turning through an arc like the other two...

Hope that makes sense pal... Good luck...

Had another go at it last night. Worked out the plug (thanks anyway Craig) but after loads of fiddling and half a can of WD40 nothing is any better.
So, am going to have to book it in...... Boo.. Regards

Why book it in Mark? Your almost at the latch you would need to change! Disconnect your battery, undo the four bolts holding on the door airbag and secure it out of the way (with cable tie or sticky tape) then pull back the black inner cover, remove the 3 or 4 torque screws holding the latch to the door (open the front door, where your childlock would be on the rear door you will see the torques bolts around the latch)

Then simply slide the latch out of the door removing the two cables and an electrical plug...

OK.... I had the airbag off and I had the inner off....
Is it the whole lock that you replace then and are they off the shelf items..... (Waits for Dan to reply)

I don't mind doing it myself if it's as straight forward as you suggest. Regards
