Pete Best insurance Beware!

I've just had a phone call from my current insurers to say that they'd never recieved my proof of no claims from "Pete Best" insurers! I changed my policy when I bought an L322 & didn't need to be insured for modifications. Now "Pete Best" insurance company say that they DO NOT PROVIDE PROOF OF NO CLAIMS for other insurers! This is a flat rate policy & they refuse to provide any proof of no claims.
I know for a fact that I wasn't informed of this detail when taking on their insurance in 2009 or I would never have accepted this but their answer to this point & I quote "is that its up to me to prove otherwise"!!!
I'm raging mad as I've been driving & had insurance since my 17th birthday & have never made a claim. I'm now 51 & find out that I do not have a no claims bonus! Evil or Very Mad
So the whole point of this message is to beware of this get out clause with this supposidly reputable insurer.

A lot of the Peter Best policies are "classic car" policies and as such they do not require or feature a no claims bonus discount ... I used them for both my P38 and MG and thought that their customer service (and claims handling) was very good.

I also thought a no claims bonus would survive for 3 years (or is it two?) so maybe you could check with your previous insurers (i.e. pre PB) to see if that has carried through? African Bush Junkie ... in London!

If you have any old certificates of insurance, or other paperwork, they normally state no claims bonus.

Most reasonable companies tend to take that as proof.

Just depends on the years inbetween.

Isn't there supposed to be some massive all encompassing insurance database to prevent fraud ?

I'd say if they can't find you in it, you haven't claimed........or you can prove what reg cars were registered to you..........and see if they can see if they are listed as being claimed against.

I know its all a long shot, and they'd have to play ball.....

I've got 32years NCB, and think mine states 9+.........
