Sick Dog...

so having bought a boot liner (thank god) its being put to the test as our new jack russel pup keeps puking in the car...

i think it might be something to do with the fact that she can't see out being small and all that.

so what can i get to raise her up higher so she can see out? the boot cover wont hold her and a french bulldog so need something sturdier - and wipe clean...!

any ideas guys? 07 S/C in Java with Ebony

We got a parson russell in may from the rescue kennels - he was 6 months and threw up every time we took him in the car Sad

We were advised to do short runs and gradually increase the length of time and he is now fine - it could just be a pup thing and should grow out of it Thumbs Up

Our Rotty throws up after more than about 40 mins in the car.

We got some tablets called Cerenia from our vet (as receommended by a friend) and they were awesome - she's never been sick since.

They were pretty pricey though and I don't think you could use them every day (not sure how often you take woof in the car) but they certainly do the job.

I was reading a kennel Club puppy handbook which stated that to prevent a dog from gretting car sick, feed it a ginger biscuit on an empty stomach before travelling. SWSBO tells me it's also a remedy for morning sickness for pregnant women! Current MY2020
