![]() Ok thanks will have to dig a bit deeper.... just looking to see if the bottom tail gate will take the weight of a couple of ramps and loading up my misses mobility scooter as and when she needs it ![]() perhaps we could then try a couple of italian job trial runs ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Buy two new support straps before attempting, as these get rusty after a few years and can give way under load (as told by "big" stan |

Duckworths Dan does them at a reasonable price and they are easy to fit if you have the right torx head.[/quote]

The scooter weighs 109kg (241lbs) including the 2 batteries so in theory the tailgate should take it........ just wasn't sure as also need to take into consideration the ramps etc but might just get a couple of new tailgate straps to be on the safe side |

you should have no problems with that weight, bearing in mind it is only ever going to be for a short space of time not continual load.

as joe90 kindly pointed out, my tailgate took both the combined weight of me and the wife [26stone] until one of the straps broke but that was due to corrosion so you could safely add a few more pounds.. ... - .- -.

Interesting to see that Stan is happy to post his wife's weight but not his own. |
