2003 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Adriatic Blue

Britcar selling out of date oil!!!

Ordered some of the illusive Castrol BOT oil (1 litre) ready for my transfer box and diff oil changes on the td6, and the oil I recieved today has (in german) 'best before 07:2012' on it, and looks like it's been stood in a dusty workshop for several years!!

Can they do this?

Seeing as the oil is millions of years old i'd not worry too much about a month or two

I know its only just out, but was expecting a new bottle off the shelf and not one that looks like its been stored in some pikeys chicken coup (i know im not buying it for the container, but it does put you off using them again)

Problem is it is not exactly as this particular product is flying off the shelves at main dealers or resellers.... am guessing most owners won't be thinking of changing it, and main dealers much the same given the "sealed for life" approach. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
