Babylon search

I downloaded a free copy of Winzip and now appear to have Babylon search on the laptop but can not find it in the program list to uninstall it. Any help from a techno to a not very techno but good at following instructions would be useful.

I had a bit of a fight to get it off as well the other day. I went into Control Panel / Programs and uninstalled it there. I also had to go into Explorer and Google to change resp. the home page and new tab page. Explorer was easy, iGoogle wasn't.........

I hate it when software does that, I'd like to take a virus and shove it up their server Evil or Very Mad MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Thanks for the reply Rolo I now seem to have cleared it but can not read any hotmail emails on the laptop (inbox opens up ok just can't read the emails) but hotmail works on another pc so it is not hotmail. This may or may not be related but help with this would also be good.

Rolo

I downloaded the cleaner prog which I set to analyse first before I ran it and ones of the files it suggested deleting was AVG which seemed a bit odd so as yet I have not run the cleaner, am I missing something or does this make sense? 2010 3.6TDV8 Stornoway Grey/ Black interior - gone

Dead easy way to get rid of all that rubbish, and to actually have a machine that does what you want it to do, when you want it to - and not for the convenience of the OS.

Thumbs Up Simes - Linux sorts all this crap out by not having it in the first place!

Shareware like winzip usually has a check box during installation to give you the option to not install the search bar et al.

Also try Izarc as a proper freeware compressor/extractor for Windows .

Sorry I don't have hotmail, so not sure why your email wouldn't work. Probably just some settings on the send/recieve account need changing - password, or user name or something simple like that.
You'll just need to check -tools - accounts- properties on the hotmail one to see if that's all set up right. Just check those settings against your other pc & you'll probably see something obvious.

The analyze on ccleaner will show what it plans on cleaning up. It won't remove any programmes unless you go into tools - uninstall.
It's probably suggesting cleaning up some temporary files you don't need anymore if you downloaded AVG.
If you do the registry clean, you can take a back up just in case it messes something up.

The cleaner just deletes temporary files, browsing history, cookies, passwords etc.
If you need to keep cookies for websites, then you can unclick the box to keep those & also things like recently opened document links.

I think hotmail.com is being moved to outlook.com - they probably both still work, but worth trying to log in to outlook.com now. Land Rover Addict
