I thought only tired old autos did that, with sloppy torque convertors. My 1997 Rangie will roll backwards in "D" (and forwards in "R" for that matter!) but my 2003 does no such thing - even on severe slopes.

Hi Roy, my 2011 does the same. Not sure if its supposed to or not but I do remember on a LRE day the instructor talked about the vehicle not rolling back for a short period when starting on a hill so it may only do that in one of the off road modes. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Mine does this too in certain instances. If you roll up to a hill slowly with hardly any breaking, you should find it'll stay in place - but be warned that is putting wear on the torque convertor, so I wouldn't do it all day long.
