Last night I was out and about and it felt like I had a brake binding. Upon further inspection the offside front caliper was way too warm and the smell of Ferodo overwhelming. Tonight I took the caliper off thinking it would be goosed, but upon inspection it looks ok. The outer seal was out a couple of cm and with a bit of gentle persuasion I refitted it. Using a G clamp I moved the piston out and in a few times, cleaned off some rust from the hanger and put it all back together. I'll be going out tomorrow so I will be able to tell if it was a sucess then

If you continue to get problems then you could try lubricating the piston. You can use a silicone lube - it must be silicone as the rubber piston seal can be damaged by WD40 or any petroleum deriv'

Had a sticking rear caliper, just worked the piston a couple of times, and has been fine since.

Caliper is working perfectly today, another job I can tick off the list
