If you get a spare you won't need it.

or fill the tyres with goo, prevents the tyres going down if you get a puncture, but not if you totally shred a tyre.

Surprisingly Halfords are the cheapest but they can't get one in time, so I'm going pick one up from Wilstow Ltd in Soham

How old was elastic bungee chord when it snapped. We're driving at night and I'm now worried that we could be half way across the county before we notice the cover's flown away and the contents are long gone

Ratchet straps are cheap and plentiful, even at Halfords. Well worth the peace of mind.

I always take a spare for the trailer. I've had the trailer for almost 30 years and never ever needed the spare, so I know for a dead cert that the next time I go out without the spare, and I'm miles from home with a loaded trailer and it's raining, and I've forgotten my phone - THEN I'll get a puncture...
