United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Ipanema Sand
first post, viewing info

hi all, thank goodness i found this fantastic forum/site.
all FFRR knowledgeis here..
its great to see so much know how etc being shared. its as good as the TVR/pistonheads forum.
i am going to view a 2007 VSE 67000 miles over the weekend . i will do the obvious checks, but i read in the wiki section to also check the air 'balloons/suspension' bags below the car.. what should i be looking for?
if all is ok with the car , would it be prudent to have the gearbox filter/oil purged and changed?
also any other odd checks specific to RR that i should be looking at?
any indies in the leicestershire area.
many thanks
raj

Welcome Goldsax, the air suspension is pretty good compared to old classic Range Rovers. But make sure it works perfectly on the one you are seeing. Change the height and make sure it goes up and down smoothly. The pump in the boot should kick in to refill the reserve. It should hold its height and not hiss once in position.

Service history is important, but an LRSH is no better than independent one. You can judge by the condition the car is kept in to get an idea if it was looked after. Tom

The rear quarter panels and the tailgates are steel, and the rear wheel arch lips are not that well protected from the day to day rigours of life.

When I was looking to buy, I didn't see any that had not started to rust on the rear wheel arch lips.

The car you are viewing is newer, obviously, but it may still be worth checking.

I had mine treated and stone chipped at a bodyshop, and there are rubber protection strips you can put on from Land Rover, but they were never fitted as standard.

My car is going in to have the upper tailgate swapped as it has started to rust from the inside.

All can be sorted, but just look out for it.

I assume the digital TV tuners were standard in 2007 ?

. . . . . Low ownership (ie no. of owners) and lots of paperwork - not just the stamp in the book !

Don't be drawn in by the those that have been polished to death - it doesn't necessarily mean they're looking after it - it may just mean they want it to look nice . . . .

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?
