am I expecting to much selling?

Been trying to sell my car on ebay for the last week. I've now taken it off whilst I transfer my private plate off and wait for the V5 to come back.

My question is am I expecting to much? I hope to get around £8750 - £9000 for it (03HSE, 102k miles, full s/h, new tax and mot and loads of standard extras etc)

I've had loads of messages from would be chancers claiming the price is to much and they will offer me £6k!

I've checked Parkers, Glass, and Gazelio and my price seems fair.

Am I just attracting the Chancers.

As soon as my V5 comes back I'm going to take some new pictures and try again.

Just wondered peoples views on the used car markets. Reformed

As Stan says, it's a buyers market, and that always brings out the chancers who look for desparate people who'll sell for stupid money,

Sadly not a good time to be in the market to be selling anything of value Big Cry Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I would say its not a great time to try and sell. As per what Stan said. The point of EBay, as a buyer, is trying to get a bargain, so I would expect chancers to make an offer... I know I have done it! Do you have to sell now? Winter is only 3 months away... Previously..

I'm not desperate to sell, just like the idea of having some money ready if I see a car for sale that grabs my interest.

I think its where I had a few emails from the Chancers it got me thinking am I asking to much. Reformed

When I was selling the P38 I found that a lot of the Ebay interest was just that ... chancers and people hoping for a super deal ... put it on Autotrader and it was gone in a week with no haggling on the price either!

I think Autotrader attracts the more serious folk.

E-Bay always attracts so called "bargain hunters", for that read vultures trying to feed off of desparate people needing to sell.

Like others say, Autotrader is more specific, and I've used Pistonheads a few times and never had the "your cars not worth that much, mate" brigade. Sure people are always looking for a good deal, but not an insulting one! Thumbs Up

Just out of interest, have you looked at webuyanycar.com to get a value from there? It will be low, but it might help get some perspective on the "actual" value.

Good luck with it! Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Just tried webuyanycar, and that came out as £7295.

So after seeing that, I think my value is fair!

Well I have to give it a while now anyway, as the DVLA are not normally quick returning the V5, when I first brought it they took 6 weeks after I put my number plate on it!

Gives me time to take some nice decent pictures I suppose.

Thanks for your input guys Thumbs Up Reformed

It took a while for me to sell my Touareg. I had the silly offers too, but if you are patient buyers are out there. Also We Buy Any Car came back with a better offer a couple of weeks after I got the valuation and ignored it. Still not what I was looking for though.

Have you tried Pistonheads? That's where mine sold in the end. Reasonable price plus you are not limited to a certain amount of words like you are on autotrader. Lloyd Barnes
