The French have introduced lower speed limits for vehicles towing trailers and it is based on the towing limit of the vehicle not the actual mass of the trailer so we are limited to the lower speeds.

I've bought a spare wheel and wheel holder, and I'm going back tomorrow with my trailer to pick up a hard top, so that's the bungee chord risk sorted too.

Have fun - I tow my toy south of Bordeaux at Easter and bring it back in September - last year managed to completely shred one of the tyres - very glad I had a spare - but the bolt holding the spare on was a different size luckily I had a socket set in the Jeep or it would have been rather embarassing

We are limited to 56mph no matter what size the trailer is. Ian |

Must be the most broken limit there is - I see loads of those little trailers bombing past me when I'm towing the Jeep - really can't tow that much past 60. |
