Anyone here have a knowledge of Land Rover Holland?

So my Land Rover (the new) has just broken down (smoke in the cabin, spoke to specialist who said it was probably an injector).

Trying to get LR Assistance Holland (where the car originally came from) to come and collect the car and take to the nearest dealer but they are saying that as the car is now on Swiss plates (we imported it) then the assistance no longer counts.

Anyone have any knowledge of Assistance from LR Holland?

Still love the car tho!

Shocked
Mate, this is nonsense Twisted Evil
Import/export of cars within EU does not affect your right to get your car recovered by LR Assistance (assuming you are still covered by warranty). I speak from experience as mine RRS was bought in Germany and is registered on Slovak plates. And as I have already broken down on couple of occasions (in and outside of Germany) the German LR Assistance always helped me out.

Thus if LR Assistance in Holland is not helpful you ought to call the dealer, where you bought the car from, and get him to sort the matter for you.

Alternatively, though in a more complicated way is to solve the situation by getting the car recovered yourself to the nearest LR garage. But be careful, the car HAS TO BE DRIVEN to the garage on the back of a recovery van. And get the cost recovered off LR via the dealer that sold the car to you.You are also entitled to a courtesy car worth EUR200/day (if I am not mistaken) for 5 or 7 working days while your car is serviced. this expense is also easily claimed of LR via your dealer.

Though as I said is be aware this option is a lengthy process. It took me nearly 2 month to get silly EUR600 from LR for a similar situation when I broke down in CZ. but must admit that the German dealer that sold me the car was extremely helpful.

And as last, if I were you I would include an official complaint to the customer care Evil or Very Mad I know that it is not much help but attention in situations like this does not harm Whistle

Hope this helps mate Thumbs Up

Out of curiosity who did you buy the car from? Asking only as we have one FFRR from Holland on SK plates as well Whistle

The car was bought from a private seller in the UK (he used to live in Switzerland). Still under LR Warranty.

Thank you for the advice on LR Germany assistance; I assume the same rules should apply for Holland.
