As above, just keep all your windows open for the journey to prevent exhaust fumes entering. |

The upper tailgate "should" stay down if fully down, but just tie it onto the luggage loops to hold it in place. Also secure your wardrobe properly. If you have a trailer number plate set, use that too. There are no hoops, clips or hooks on the upper tailgate, you will just have to lash it down as best you can. .

And to be different I find when driving with the rear hatch open it is best to shut all windows and put the airconditioning on.

+1 for windows shut , I do it all the time just put the blower on max to keep positive cabin pressure in fact just a bit less than max is usually enough |

Get a pair of bungee cords, unbend the hooks a bit, then cover the unbent parts with something soft.

I did this yesterday. I collected a large wooden workbench for my garage. It just about fitted but only with both tailgates open.

As to the number plate showing early classics hate a hinged number plate so that when the tailgate was open it could be made to hang down. 2010 3.6TDV8 Stornoway Grey/ Black interior - gone
