Hey guys

Had a play, seems like a terminal issue, disc wont spin up and loading mechanism seems to have a mind of its own.
Looked for replacement, but super expensive £250! second hand.

Anyone repair these or know where i can get a used unit? FFRR 2003 Vogue V8

I would hazard a guess that any good computer repair shop could probably fix the drive, if that is all it is....., but when you have spent that money, it may as well be worth getting a replacement or an upgrade to MkIV .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Nahh - £250! They go for £150 ish on ebay - in fact I'm selling mine right now!!

Hi, yep I upgraded to the MK4 - straight forward plug and play although you do need to check that it has the latest firmware and disc - there's a good seller on ebay I bought mine from for about £300. I would recommend the upgrade as you get better graphics (on the radio/CD etc too!) and the sat nav is much better, split screen, better views etc and you can get postcode search and speed camera alerts.

I too upgraded to a Mk4 sat nav unit. Much better. Can now keep up with you as you go up the road !!

I still have my Mk3 unit, which I imagine I'd put back in when I sell/trade the car, and put the Mk4 on the bay..........
