MOT advice - heads up on Xenons (HIDs)

My MOT guy tells me that wipers (if fitted) and washers on HIDs / Xenons are now part of the MOT. (He didn't realise I had Xenons until I told him - foot in mouth !!) Usually he is very good and doesn't miss a trick Smile

So make sure yours are working properly before MOT

Also while chatting, I asked if with a current MOT the car failed an new MOT test, whether the existing MOT was still valid. No came the answer, as you as the driver would know that the vehicle is in a unfit state to drive. ( So says M.of T. and the Fuzz) .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Your car has to be in a roadworthy state at all times if being driven on the road. Having a valid MOT is never a defence of the current condition of your car.

On the wipers thing, I wonder how many MOT testers realize that there is no actual button to explicitly wash the lights/wipers. If I recall correctly it's something like every third or fifth windscreen wash also washes the lights.

Think your right Joe
First time after headlights are switched on then every five or six windscreen sprays after
And I dont think you can kid it by turning it off and on
Thumbs Up Mine was a blue one! Smile
