Hi All, sorry - me again!

I noticed a bizarre problem (you gotta love RR's) with the front windscreen wipers.

They don't fully wipe! in the past, they must have because you can see wear lines in the glass, but now, when you use the wipers, the arm stops and goes back about 2-3 inches short.

Very bizarre i know - any thoughts?

take them off and re-postion them on the spline... ... - .- -.

Wouldnt that affect where they stop when you turn them off?
they stop in the correct position.

hhhmmmm, the plot thickens....i suppose thats a very valid point, no harm in trying though and if it 'wipes' the extra bit and doesnt stop right at the bottom it could be a compromise.......your point also makes me think that the wiper motor might worn a bit... ... - .- -.

i am reluctant to change the spindle position without better understanding the problem.
Do we know what is it that actually stops the wiper from sweeping across to its final point, is it mechanical or electrical?

if the motor is itself to blame, then i will probably put up with the problem. Wasnt sure if there was a simple fix.

Does anyone know if it is Mechanical or Electrical related?

Are the arms loose??

ie. can you wiggle them up and down by the amount you deem it needs to go to 'Park'??

if you can move them, it is definatly wear in components....if they are firm and no play - could be the park position sensor in the motor casing is dislodged.

Dont seem to be an play, they feel pretty tight actually.
How can i check for the motor sensor? is it easy to locate?
