After the burglary, we had Chem-Dry out to do the carpets (courtesy of the insurance co). Have to say, I wasn't that impressed. The hall is still dirty and there is a light circle where I'd sprayed Vanish onto a dirty mark some weeks previous.
Anyway, the manager (franchisee) came out to look at it today and tried to say it was OK. I told him I'd had better results with the Rug Doctor machine that we hired last year. We even showed him what we'd managed to suck up using the Dyson the day after his bloke had been out! Turns out his employee hadn't vaccumed the carpet prior to wet cleaning it, which explained all the crud we'd vaccumed up
