Just to let you know, the wiring loom fixed the issue on the oil temp sensor issue - thanks for your help!

i have noticed though, since this work was done, the transmission has a new issue. After 30+ mins of driving (when transmission has warmed up), without any kind of warning, the gearbox goes into safe mode (but with no alarm on dash)

It will not change up above 2nd and behaves like its in safe mode (when there are no alarms on the dash)

To remedy the issue, i need to either turn off ignition and start again, but doesn't always fix, or let the car cool down, then the issue is gone until the next time it does it.

Its a random issue and sometimes never happens at all. I can do a 300 mile journey without fault, but then do a 20 mile journey with round town driving and it gets stuck in this mode. It never did this before i had the cable changed - could it be related or something else disturbed during the change? FFRR 2003 Vogue V8
