Anyone have a Static Holiday Home

Thinking of selling my Motorhome as i have had it now for 10 months and hardly use it , to date it has only done 1750 miles .

So i have been looking at these Static Homes and might see about buying one of these , is there any member who has one to give me a few pointers on them if they are any good …

Link is blank page. Are you going to put on their site in St Fillans? If so, check the small print regarding replacing the static from them depending on where the pitch is sighted, can get very expensive!

Stayed at St Fillans loads, personally, would be my choice over Arbroath no contest!Had some great times on a jetski there, a 750 Kawasaki, managed to empty the tank in 15 minutes once Whistle The wife's boss had his on the pitches beside the water and IIRC part of their terms was the static had to be replaced every so often with purchase via Perthsire Caravans only. Obviously on top of site fees etc.

We have one in France - south of Bordeaux and love it.

The units themselves are quite different, wo worth a good look around to get the right configuration for you - we have a double bedroom at one end with ensuite and 2 kids rooms at the other with another bathroom.

We also have an outside covered deck, about the same size again which makes all the difference.

The bad points - basically the site owners have you by the balls - you need to buy and sell through them and they set all the rules - any disagreement and your unit could be deposited outside the front gate !

They also depreciate pretty much like a car.

Some sites have an age limit on the caravans - often 10 years, but ours doesn't.

If you like the site and are going to make regular use of it, then they make a lot of sense, but if not, it could be an expensive short term experience.....

We're thinking of buying one as well. Our caravan is currently on a seasonal pitch, amongst several statics. I went in one of them last week and I was blown away.
There's one for sale at the moment- a Swift Moselle. Doesn't look that old either. I think they want £24k for it.

As has been said, the site owners have you by the Censored . You can't turn up with a static- you have to buy through them. Then you have to use their "approved" transport even if you know someone with a low loader. If you want decking, you buy through them or you can't have it and so on.

Find a nice site with one for sale. Can't really go wrong then. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
